About Archive of the Unread
Archive of the Unread is a collection of quiet, unsettling stories drawn from the edges of memory, folklore and place.
Most of the stories are inspired by German and Central European legends - not retold as they were, but reshaped into something quieter, stranger and often darker.
These are not loud horror stories.
They unfold slowly, in familiar places: a road, a village, a forest, a room.
And then something is wrong.
The archive grows piece by piece. Some stories stand alone. Others belong to the same world.
If you’re looking for subtle, atmospheric horror (stories that linger rather than shock) you’re in the right place.
New entries are added regularly.
